The university should launch an educational campaign encouraging students and staff to avoid feeding the geese and foxes. Doing so creates an unhealthy dependency and disrupts the natural balance of the local ecosystem.
Work with the Environmental Science and Policy Department to facilitate projects and research on the long-term wildlife sustainability in Mason Pond itself.
The addition of a riparian buffer around segments of Mason Pond could improve water quality for aquatic wildlife.
Add more secure areas for wildlife to live without any human interruption
I.e. more native gardens for pollinators
Increase education opportunities:
Trash pick up
Volunteering/interning with the Greenhouse and Gardens Program
Behavior towards wildlife
Increase awareness of wildlife on campus, education, engagement through hands-on activities
Integrate a green leaf course for other disciplines/majors to take as part of their mason core requirements
